Dan is currently the Founder & President/CEO of Cawley Chicago Real Estate a position he has held since founding the company in 1998. Cawley Chicago is the largest independent boutique full service real estate company in the Chicagoland market and has a suburban and city locations with 26 brokers a full service property management company which manages nearly 7+ million square feet. In 2017 members of the firm started puchasing stock and became partners.

He was raised in the business and started his real estate career in 1977 joining his brother & father at Cawley Realty. It was there he was taught to do the right thing every time. His father, Ryan was instrumental in assembling 160 acres in Peru that ultimately became a half million square foot regional mall; The Peru Mall opened in the late 60’s and put LaSalle Peru on the map. He also founded the property management division (Cawley Realty) thereby expanding the services of the Company to their clients in order to oversee investment properties brokered by the firm.

Mr. Cawley received the prestigious; educational, production and ethics-based Society of Industrial and Office Realtors (SIOR) designation in 1996. Cawley exceeded the required transaction volume; completed seven years creditable experience in the highly specialized field of office and industrial real estate; passed a stringent qualifying written examination; and demonstrated to the Society professional ability, competency, ethical conduct and personal integrity.

Dan is a former Partner and top producer for Phillips Martin Real Estate (1992) and was the first Broker in the history of that company from outside the organization to earn a Partnership. The position of Sales Manager was awarded in 1993 when he doubled the company transaction volume through increased market share and his recruiting ability.

Dan moved to the Chicago area in 1985 and went to work for First United Realtors the largest residential real estate company in the Midwest and 3rd largest in the country at the time.

He has worked exclusively for office and industrial property and business owners where he established a strong reputation as a diligent, honest, straightforward and intuitive broker. His reputation in the local brokerage community is that of a local player, problem solver and deal maker.

Dan, taking after his father, has been involved with several organizations including LaSalle Rotary, President 1984-85; Association of Industrail Real Estate Brokers since 1990; SIOR 1996 where he perfomed as a member of the Board of Directors and lead their fundraising for 11 straight years; Memeber of Northern Illinois Commercial Association of Realtors (President 2011-2012) and was designated as Realtor of The Year in 2012.

Cawley graduated from Quincy College (University) in 1977 with BS Business Management and spent 4 years on the Advisory Board for RML Specialty Hospitals.
