Introducing Golf Social

Change is constant. The ability to recognize emerging trends before they happen creates tremendous opportunity. Northern Baptist Theological Seminary was ahead of the curve in 2017, when they installed state of the art technology to their classrooms and perfected virtual learning, well before the pandemic pushed us all to Zoom calls. They had their process dialed in when they decided to downsize and put the campus and the 27 acres of land it was built on, up for sale. As a result, they paved the way for new uses to develop and we are excited to announce the new location of Golf Social in addition to the 3-phase development plan.

Alpha Omega acquired the land on April 20, 2021, and will open up Golf Social’s first location here in Illinois location.

Golf Social will begin demolition on the remaining Seminary infrastructure Spring of 2021. Joining Golf Social and Moretti’s will be retail developments. A private roadway will be constructed to tie Golf Social to Target and the Yorktown Shopping Center. The final phase of the plan will include residential developments.

Again, change is constant, and as a result, Northern Seminary has freed up capital to change lives by providing scholarships and financial aid for students, support faculty, repay any debts and provide innovative training for years to come.

“As stewards of this campus, we wanted to reinvest in the students and faculty that are at the core of our mission and continue to plan for innovative training to lead the church and engage the world in the future.” – President Bill Shiell

The Village of Lombard has been supportive of this project from day one and are confident Golf Social will be an attraction which draws people to Yorktown Shopping Center and serves as a place for the community to gather. This is set to be one of the largest projects Lombard has seen to date.

“This site is one of the premier development opportunities in the western suburbs and the development plans Hoffman has put forward will bring a lot of joy to the surrounding residents and businesses for years to come. The Village of Lombard has had a very forward-thinking approach to development with their Butterfield-Yorktown TIF district, and their success in working with the development community to bolster the area around Yorktown mall will reinvigorate the area for the 21st century. The work and cooperation put into this project by all parties involved, especially in the midst of a global pandemic, was a herculean effort.” – David Conroy, Principal at Cawley Chicago Commercial Real Estate

David Conroy, Tim Gallagher, and Rawly Lantz of Cawley Chicago Commercial Real Estate represented nonprofit client, Northern Baptist Theological Seminary. This was a direct deal and no other brokers were involved. Mary Riordan acted as legal counsel on the deal and was instrumental in bringing the project to a successful completion.
