The I-80/55/294 corridors have experienced the greatest amount of absorption in Chicagoland. The reasons for growth South I-55 and I-80 have not only been due to newer more functional properties and better access, but also encompasses the nation’s largest inland port, by volume. While I-294 historically was only a feeder market into I-55 and I-80, it has become an infill market due to proximity to the city along with a high density of population surrounding the submarket. With the trend in supply chain of eliminating storefronts and direct shipments from warehouses it has tightened this entire corridor.
