Thomas Turk

With over 38 years of commercial Real Estate experience, Thomas has negotiated with exclusive rights for Fortune 500 companies such as Motorola, Xerox, the Travelers, Union Carbide, Louisiana Pacific, Gerber Foods, North American Van Lines, Kraft Foods, Rayovac, and John Hancock Insurance. He has successfully negotiated over 700 transactions across the United States.

Thomas worked ten years at CBRE (the largest commercial real estate company in the world with 400 offices and 73,000+ people) and became a Senior National Broker. In his first year Thomas received CBRE’s Rookie of the Year award. While at CBRE he was also awarded the largest commercial real estate transaction in suburban Chicago. He was promoted to the CBRE National Accounts Swat Team. He reorganized the national real estate department for the Fortune 500 Company TRW. Thomas was then further appointed leader of CBRE’s Corporate Advisory Services Group to Fortune 500 accounts and established the national, exclusive teams to serve those accounts. Thomas was also with Coldwell Banker Commercial NRT, in the Chicago metro area market for 13 years and was a Top Producer as a Senior Commercial Broker. He has also directed teams comprised of architects, engineers and attorneys, negotiated internationally, and worked with the best-in-class corporations globally.

Thomas has negotiated alongside partners from the second largest law firm in the U.S., DLA Piper, in their corporate headquarters at Rockefeller Center in New York, regarding global distribution for industrial centers in Europe. He has also negotiated alongside partners in Europe from the global, U.S. law firm K&L Gates, regarding the development of industrial centers in Europe. He has also negotiated on behalf of major law firms, including a firm with over 200 lawyers out of the Sears Tower (Willis Tower) in Chicago. He recently, successfully negotiated a 10 year lease for a law firm and a facility purchase for another law firm. He has also advised the U.S. Ambassador to Panama regarding commercial real estate developments along the Panama Canal. The former Mayor of Chicago, Richard Daley, invited Thomas to advise regarding the reconstruction of and renovations to Chicago’s Navy Pier and to participate in private Olympic Committee meetings regarding Chicago’s bid for the Olympics. The former Chairman of IBM appointed Thomas to IBM’s Gold List of the Top 100 Providers in Europe.

Thomas has deep experience in commercial Real Estate for healthcare and is one of the most experienced medical experts in Chicago and the Midwest region. He represented and successfully negotiated on behalf of a pharmaceutical company for their 50,000 s.f. acquisition. Thomas sold a Quest Medical Diagnostic Lab to a doctor of infectious diseases as an investment. He recently sold a physician’s facility to an Endodontist and sold another medical facility to a family practice physician. He prepares his medical clients for a 1031 Exchange transaction which then provides for a second, equal commission. He is also currently negotiating on behalf of a dental group (30 years in practice) for a 10-year lease and for another dental practice with a wellness center. He is also currently conducting site selections for ambulatory surgical centers for build to suit (BTS). He has begun discussions regarding a 20,000 s.f. medical office building for BTS. Thomas is also currently representing a group of 5 doctors (40 years in practice) and another group of 7 doctors (59 years in practice). He recently, successfully negotiated on behalf of a group of 35 doctors (Dupage Medical Group) and is currently negotiating for a group of 55 other physicians in 5 different locations.
